As his fixation deepens, his relationship crumbles and his wife leaves, yet Harry remains determined to complete his life's work. When the moment finally arrives to test the machine, it catastrophically fails. Broken, alone, and stripped of purpose, Harry throws himself into a nearby river. In a poignant twist, the journey we've witnessed was never time travel at all, but the fragments of Harry's life flashing before his eyes in his final moments.
